Rejuvenate, Re-energize and Revive your Productivity

Autumn is here, which means falling burgundy red, amber orange, and bronze leaves, spiced pumpkin lattes and apple pie. This season makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside and serves as a reminder that the end of the year is quickly approaching.

By now most of us have already settled into a normal routine. It’s no wonder that rather than using these last few months to kick things into high gear, we begin to feel unmotivated and start to struggle with maintaining productivity. However, this is the the perfect time to take the necessary steps to meet year end goals and start investing in the upcoming year.

Here are a few tips that hopefully will help keep you positive and invigorate your performance during the Fall season :

  1.  Start your day off a little earlier

start day off earlierAutumn marks the transition from carefree summer to winter blues, as the days get shorter and cooler. Because night time comes sooner try starting your day off an hour earlier than usual and give yourself a head start.  

Fresh ideas usually manifest earlier during the day before the hustle and bustle of life and daily activities take over.

 

  1.  Take your time

take your time 2Although you will want to try to accomplish as much as possible, don’t feel rushed by the shorter days.  If you rush task you will start to feel overwhelmed with trying to begin and finish everything all at once. Manage your time and create schedules and checklist to avoid early burnout.

 

  1. Set goals

rejuvenate at work 1What do you want to accomplish personally or professionally in the upcoming week, month, or by the end of the year?Establish your goals and go over them as often as possible. Make yourself accountable and make sure you’re on track.  In order to stay productive you should know what you’re trying to accomplish. Strategically plan your activities so they can align with your goals.

  1. Bribe Yourself

Sometimes we need that extra push to stay motivated.rewards just aheadSet rewards for yourself for accomplishing a goal or completing a project. You can reward yourself with a guilty pleasure like indulging in a snack or with a cup of coffee. Whatever your personal preference is, enjoy! 

  1.  Maintain Balance

rejuventateAll work and no play makes for a dull day. Give yourself permission to take a break and refresh. If you are constantly going it’s easy to lose your focus and knock yourself off balance. Give yourself permission to take a walk or switch task. More importantly give yourself a cutoff time and stick to it.

You may not finish all you intended, but it’s fine!
